Fluorouracil Injection

Description:
Fluorouracil is a fluorinated pyrimidine belonging to the category of anti-metabolites, which blocks the conversion of deoxyuridylic acid to thymidylic acid, interfering with the synthesis of dna and, inhibiting the formation of rna, thus prevents unbalanced growth and death of cells.

Fluorouracil is used in the palliation of inoperable malignant neoplasms of the gastro-intestinal tract, breast, Colon and pancreas. It is also used by intra-arterial infusion in the treatment of tumors on head and neck, and chorio-epithelioma.
